Pension Program

The purpose of the Pension Class is to explore and learn pension concepts and strategies that will enable the IAM representative to negotiate effectively in the area of pensions. In the ever changing bargaining environment, pensions have become a major focus for contract negotiations. Our representatives have found a need to learn more about pensions in order to protect and improve the pension benefits to which our members are entitled. The class covers the entire gamut of pension negotiations, from basic pension concepts to pension law.

After completing this class the representative will have a better understanding and knowledge of the following pension areas:

The nature of the pension class is such that the curriculum is designed to utilize a number of content experts to teach the various components of the class. The IAM is fortunate to have a cadre of instructors who are both experienced in their field of expertise and also competent instructors. They teach the technical aspects of the class and answer many of the questions asked by the participants. They are augmented by the Placid Harbor teaching staff to form a well rounded pension class.
