Strategic Planning
The Strategic Planning class integrates the comprehensive educational programs of our union into a strategic plan for enhanced growth and membership service. The representation will use a number of diagnostic tools and principles to apply the concepts of individual learning, to organizational strategic planning and growth. Upon completion of the class the representative will have developed a strategic plan to increase both the membership and level of service in his/her specific area of responsibility. This class covers the following topics:

how does the organization define its learning environment
what are the processes used to scan the reaming systems environment
what kind of information does the organization create
Goal Attainment
how do districts and locals define goals
to what extent are goals attained
how open are leaders to critical inquiry
Integration (Dissemination and Diffusion)
to what extent is performance data available
how is knowledge and information shared; vertically and horizontally
Meaning and Memory
how does the collective create meaning
what value is placed on learning
what are the basic assumptions of the organization
what is organizational memory stored and how is it accessed
